To begin my own searches in sourcing the right track for a production – I think it’s best to establish themes that are attached to that specific project or brand.
For example – if the project has themes around being quite natural or from the built world or being quite industrious; I like to use some of those ideas as key words to begin to search.

Then obviously instrumentation and tempo play a huge part in the next phases of musci selection but Ifind that quite often I can really begin to hone in on music ideas that I can try to relate to the brand or project brief itself.
I find a lot of people get caught up in looking for a particular genre of music or look for a sound alike but I still feel strongly about making the connection to the theme.
